Bailieborough School of Music currently caters for approximately 220 students with tuition given by 8 teachers. The range of instruments taught include recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone drums, percussion and guitar.
The Bailieborough Music School is one of the largest of its kind in the country. Lessons are given in small groups or individually and the student’s progress is charted by entering RIAM grade examinations. Many of the School’s students have reached Grade 8 level. Students also use their lessons to help them to prepare for the practical section of the Junior and Leaving Cert music examinations.
Many past students have gone on to study music at third level and now have a career teaching music. At present four of our teachers are past students, Liam McCabe has been a member of the famous band Shouting at Planes and is more recently involved in the up and coming Dublin based band Heroes in Hiding.
